2025 Prayer Emphases

Prayer Emphasis #1
Lord, please multiply disciples through us by putting at least 4 people on each one of our hearts who need the gospel, and help us commit to share the gospel with each of them and pray for them this year.

Prayers for the Week
Day 1: Commit to pray for at least 4 people you know who need to hear the gospel and be saved.
Day 2: Pray for and seek opportunities to have spiritual conversations with these people.
Day 3: Pray for boldness to share the full gospel with these people and ask for a response.
Day 4: Pray for these people's hearts to be sensitive and receptive to the gospel.
Day 5: Pray that more Christians would be zealous to share the gospel with the lost.

Prayer Emphasis #2
Lord, please multiply disciples by saving people and calling them to walk in the obedience of believer’s baptism here at Second Baptist Church so that we can glorify You as You save the lost.
Prayers for the Week
Day 1:  Pray for the people that you have committed to share the gospel with, that they would have their eyes opened and would cry out to Jesus in faith.
Day 2: Pray for people who have repented of sin and trusted in Christ but have not yet been baptized, that they would faithfully obey Jesus as their Lord through baptism.
Day 3: Pray for the lost in Angleton and Brazoria county, that they would be encountered by Christians who will share the gospel with them and invite them to church.
Day 4: Pray for a large movement of the Spirit, that He will convict people of sin and convince people of the truthfulness of Christ.
Day 5: Pray for us as a church to be ready to receive and equip new disciples to grow in their new faith in Christ.

Prayer Emphasis #3
Lord, please bring your people back who have fallen out of the practice of regular church attendance and grow them through regular fellowship and discipleship with your Church.
Prayers for the Week
Day 1: Pray that each of us would be consistent in our attendance and fellowship with the church.
Day 2: Pray that each of us would be mindful of those who have not been active recently at church.
Day 3: Pray that each of us would reach out to people we haven’t seen at church in a while and rekindle relationships.
Day 4: Pray that God would work in the hearts of those who have been inactive to cause them to desire fellowship with His church.
Day 5: Pray that we would be a hospitable and welcoming place to which inactive Christians can return.

Prayer Emphasis # 4
Lord, please equip each one of us to be mature, disciple-making Christians through Relational Discipleship (D-Groups) and develop more church leaders as a result.
Prayers for the Week
Day 1:  Pray that as we grow in Christ, our desire for ourselves would become less and our desire for Him would become more.
Day 2: Pray that God would grow in each of us a greater desire for His Word.
Day 3: Pray that God would grow in our hearts a desire to serve Him and one another.
Day 4: Pray that God would grow in our hearts a desire to build genuine fellowship with other believers.
Day 5: Pray that God would lead each of us to be actively involved in Relational Discipleship (D-Groups).
Prayer Emphasis #5
Lord, please create supernatural gospel unity and an atmosphere of belonging in our church through our Small Groups and help us to truly do life together with those people.
Prayers for the Week
Day 1Pray that we would grow in the biblical understanding of our need for gospel-centered relationships with other believers.
Day 2: Pray that we would desire and pursue gospel unity with others despite personal preferences or differing opinions on non-essential issues.
Day 3: Pray that our Small Groups would do life together even more through fellowship in the context of the church building, people's homes, and out in the community.
Day 4: Pray that God would multiply the fellowship in our church by filling our Small Groups and creating a need for more Small Groups.
Day 5: Pray that God would continue to grow our church's culture of love and hospitality.
Prayer Emphasis #6
Lord, please help us disciple the next generation through Family Discipleship in our church.
Prayers for the Week
Day 1Pray that the parents of our young people would be ever growing disciples of Christ.
Day 2: Pray that the parents of our young people would take ownership of the discipleship of their children in their homes and daily lives.
Day 3: Pray that the church would be faithful to equip and encourage parents in the discipleship of their children.
Day 4: Pray that the church would be a safe and engaging place for young people to grow as disciples.
Day 5: Pray that, if the Lord wills, He would raise up and send us a Family Pastor to help shepherd the Family Discipleship Ministry, and that we would be equipped to call such a man.
Prayer Emphasis # 7
Lord, please bring healing and gospel peace to our families by saving lost family members and bringing repentance and resolution to family conflicts.
Prayers for the Week
Day 1Pray that God would convict each of us of our own personal sins against our family members and lead us to repentance.
Day 2: Pray that God would strengthen each of us to forgive our family members for sins they have committed against us.
Day 3: Pray that God would heal and strengthen our marriages through confession, repentance, forgiveness, and restoration.
Day 4: Pray that God would produce a spirit of love and compassion between parents and children both young and old.
Day 5: Pray that God would give us peace and hope in our hearts because of His forgiveness and mercy towards us.
